Addressing the Supreme Court Bar Association, Bilawal Bhutto, the Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party, has demanded a level playing field for all political parties, stating his firm opposition to any election delay.
In a speech marked by his jests at the PML-N during the Supreme Court Bar Association ceremony, he asserted that their aim was to demonstrate how they establish a democratic government, restoring trust in parliament and the public.
He expressed concerns over institutions operating in a neutral fashion overnight, remarking, "Wow! Wow! They are all inclined through the same institution."
Bilawal Bhutto pointed out that they were enthusiastic about the accountability of the Sharif family by the judiciary, but their own accountability was something they were not comfortable with.
He further commented that the judicial pride of judges had increased after the restoration of the judiciary due to public pressure in 2009. He highlighted how the judiciary displayed clear bias during the 2013 elections with the Iftikhar Chaudhry case and also seemed favorably inclined during the 2018 elections.
In his speech, Bilawal Bhutto called on the Election Commission to promptly announce the date and schedule of the upcoming elections, emphasizing the need for immediate action.
